EU ICT standardisation: consultation

The European Commission are seeking responses from all interested parties on how to adapt to changes in the standardisation of information and communication technologies and achieve a modern ICT standardisation policy, as set out in their 3 July 2009 white paper Modernising ICT Standardisation in the EU - The Way Forward.

For example, in relation to the use of standards in public procurement, intellectual property rights (IPRs) in ICT standards, and integration of fora and consortia in the ICT standardisation process.

The online consultation closes 15 September 2009 – you have 90 minutes to complete it once begun, so the PDF of the questions may be viewed in advance.

Following the public consultation and policy review, the Commission envisages presenting any necessary policy and legislative proposals in 2010.
